Lanca 5th Crucis Lancers/5th Crucis Lancers lance

W związku z organizowanym przeze mnie konkursem malarskim na Solaris7.pl, postanowiłem sam coś zmalować, mimo że jako organizator nie mogę samemu wziąć udziału w zabawie.

Because I'm organizing a painting contest on Solaris7.pl, I decided to paint something for myself, although as an organizer I can not take part in the contest.

Na tapetę poszła lanca średnich Mechów (Blackjack, Centurion, Enforcer III, Dervish - produkcja Iron Wind Metals i Ral Partha Europe), które postanowiłem pomalować w barwy 5th Crucis Lancers. Głównie z powodu prostoty malowania - zielony z białymi wyróżnieniami. Przed położeniem podkładu zmodyfikowałem nieco Blackjacka - uciąłem mu jedno z ramion i zamontowałem z powrotem w pozycji bardziej strzeleckiej.


I decided to paint a lance of medium Mechs (Blackjack, Centurion, Enforcer III, Dervish - made by Iron Wind Metals and Ral Partha Europe), which I chose to paint in the colors of the 5th Crucis Lancers. Mainly because of the simplicity of painting - green with white highlights. Before spraying the undercoat, I modified the Blackjack a bit - I cut off one of the arms and glued it back in more shooting position.

Zapodkładowałem je sprayem Army Green od Army Paintera. Miejsca gdzie spray nie dotarł potraktowałem tym samym kolorem ale już pędzlem.


I basecoated them with Army Green spray from Army Painter. The places where I couldn't reach with the spray were brushed with the same color.

Little green Mechs.

Rozjaśnienia to najpierw mieszanka Army Green (AP) i Olive Green (VMC), a następnie mix Olive Green i Yellow Green (VMC). Białe elementy to Ghost Grey (VMC), rozjaśniane starym Skull White (GW) - Memo nr 1 Kup nową białą farbę. Soczewki laserów i kokpity to stopniowe mieszanie Black (VMC) i Flat Red (VMC). Metalowe lufy to Natural Steel (VMC) rozjaśniane Necron Compoundem (GW). Lufy potraktowałem jeszcze efektem rozgrzanego metalu za pomocą Sepia Wash (VMC), Violet Ink (VGC) i Blue Wash (VMC). Memo nr 2 - Inki mają gęstszą konsystencję niż washe. Następnym razem trzeba je mocniej rozcieńczyć, np. Glaze Medium.


The first highlights are a mix of Army Green (AP) and Olive Green (VMC), followed by the mix of Olive Green and Yellow Green (VMC). White elements are Ghost Gray (VMC), highlighted with old Skull White (GW) - Memo No. 1 Buy a new white paint. Laser lenses and cockpits are gradual mixes of Black (VMC) and Flat Red (VMC). The metal weapon barrels are Natural Steel (VMC) highlighted with Necron Compound (GW). On the barrels I also applied the effect of heated metal using Sepia Wash (VMC), Violet Ink (VGC) and Blue Wash (VMC). Memo No. 2 - Inks have a thicker consistency than washes. The next time I need to dilute them more, maybe with Glaze Medium.

The next step is a coat of Tamyia gloss and a pin-wash with Wash for Green Vehicles from AK-Interactive.

Po 24h to już tylko weathering, pigmenty, podstawka i efekty specjalne w postaci wystrzałów z Armorcasta i własnoręcznie zrobionego efektu odpalenia rakiet na Dervishu. Choć nie do końca jednak to jest to o co mi chodziło. Wygląda to bardziej jak salwa artylerii rakietowej niż kilka rakiet dalekiego zasięgu. Miały też być kalki ale przy przeprowadzce gdzieś zaginęły więc będą później.

After 24 hours, I did some weathering, pigments, the base and special effects in the form of Armorcast cinematic effects for the autocannons and a DIY effect of missiles launching for Dervish. Although I'm not completely satisfied with the last one. It looks more like a Arrow IV salvo than a few LRMs. I also wanted to do some decals, but I seem to have lost them while moving to the new apartament, so I may add them later.

Rodzinka w komplecie 

Ogólnie uzyskany efekt mi się podoba. Lubię jak Mechy wyglądają jak maszyny bojowe - odrapane, zakurzone, brudne. W tej skali nieco trudno oddać, ale myślę że całkiem nieźle mi się to udało. Na żywo będzie je można obejrzeć w Łodzi w CH Sukcesja w dniu 17.02 podczas Bitewniaków w Sukcesji. Zapraszam od 10.00.


Generally, I like the result. I want my Mechs to look like machines that were already in combat - scratched, dusty, and dirty. It is hard to show that in this scale, but I think I did quite well.
